Cricket Vs India

If Cricket is a religion, Sachin is the god was the old story, now they are going to build a temple for Dhoni in Ranchi. It sounds crazy, but there is something which we need to see about the diehard cricket fans in India before we laugh at them. What makes Indians to fall in love with cricket? I asked this question to many people, Why do you love cricket?, Many told me,” I don’t know, its nice”. Some told,” My grandfather watched, My father watches and I too do”. May be the later makes some sense. But whatever the reason is, Cricket is like Hemoglobin, like Platelets, Cant be removed from most of the Indians. The passion just dissolved with the blood.

But what are the impacts of other games because of this? A lot actually. If a mother gives importance only to the first child, obviously the second child will be weak enough even to walk. Mark the word, Mother. I am not blaming the people. That’s their own rights to watch and encourage any game as they like. But Government should not do that. All the games are equal to Govt. Govt gave crores and crores to Dhoni and Yuvraj for 20-20 Games and considerably they gave nothing to Anand, Viswanath. We should not forget that, Anand is a world champion.

I bet, How many of you know Bindra, Vijay before Olympics? But I can again bet, govt and media are keenly watching budding cricket players. There is no point of blaming Hockey team for losing in Olympics qualification match. Because we gave nothing to the Hockey players compared to cricketers. Remember Indian hockey team won 8 Gold medals. Indian cricket won the world cup once.

When Indian hockey team won the Asia Cup, Indian cricket team won the 20-20 World cup. How much millions did cricketers got from govt and how much paisa did hockey players got from Govt.

Again, Is Really Indian govt taking care of budding atheletes, foot ballers etc.? The answer is a clear no. Then no wonder India is struggling for medals in Olympics.

Cricket will be taken care by Indian people. If Dhoni fails to enter super six, then he get some brick bats from people. So Indian govt, You please concentrate on other sports.
